National Politics

Insights on the political landscape within Canada. Not your run of the mill mainstream media. These are my takes on what's happening on the national stage. I'll do my best to remain non partisan but be forewarned; I am conservative, and these are my opinions.

Trudeau, surrounded by discontent finally steps down

Like a child holding on to another's toy, Trudeau finally relented and stepped down.

This is the epitome of selfish egotistical pity party politics I've ever witnessed. This Prime Minister drove this country into the ground with almost every policy his party shoved down our throats. Canada is reeling, from over taxation, housing crisis, uncontrolled immigration, a looming 25% tariff from our closest ally, a military in shambles, crime rates rising to their highest levels, division within our multi cultural citizenship and a bloated ineffective government., to name just a few.

All in the name of progressive politics..

This fiasco of a circus systematically crippled our main income - oil, natural gas and mining exports at the same time surgically reducing our civil liberties. Remember Covid? What politician stood to make the most during that period?

Now he has rung the coffers dry, hyper extended our national debt collapsed our healthcare system and polluted the education system. As long as you were a minority you could count on the Liberals to champion your cause at the expense of our shrinking dedicated workforce. Every cause has a price tag. Don't get me wrong here.. I believe in minorities standing up for their rights, just not so much at the expense of regular Canadians trying to make a living.
So, what's next?

We've missed righting this boat many times thanks to Singh and the NDP, and now the Trudeau Liberals have all but capsized our country. The Conservatives vowed another attempt to vote non confidence to force an election. The Bloc pledged their support but this time Jagmeet also pledged his parties support if Trudeau did not step down. Read that again.. "if Trudeau did not step down."

So here we are, Trudeau stepped down and on the way out he
Prorogued parliament, a calculated manoeuvre that insures the Liberals can continue to control government untethered by an opposition until March 24. This is to give the Liberals time to elect a new leader to take the helm. But that my friend is a Liberal party problem, not one concerning the country so why did our Governor General allow this to take place? One of the few muscles this position can flex and so wrongfully done. The Governor General needs to focus on the proper function of government - not give get out of jail free cards to a limping duck.

Let's jump ahead to the end of March. Liberals have a new leader, Jagmeet has formed a new alliance with the re branded Liberal party and vows to back them all the way to the next election thereby securing the pensions of many MP's in exchange for some NDP talking points. All while our neighbour to the south forges ahead with a 25% tariff.

Yes, Trudeau stepped down, but the aftermath is far more serious.
